    Whether you are a DIYer wanting to change your furnace filter, or just need a little guidance to program your thermostat, we have an answer for you!  Have a Questions that hasn't been asked yet?  Just contact us and we will help you out.

    Q: How do I change my air filter?

    A: With the exception of some HEPA filters, most air filters on your heater or air conditioning unit can be changed quickly and easily, and should be changed up to 4 times year depending on the type.  Here are the steps for changing your filter:

    1. Determine the size of the filter.  There are three dimensions- width, height, and thickness.
    2. Replace the old filter by removing the filter cover which is usually located on the side of the heating unit where the return air duct is attached.
    3. If you have trouble, refer to the Youtube video for your make and model.  For example, here is a tutorial for the Trane CleanEffects pre-filter cleading and/or replacement:
